I THOUGHT IT
WAS JUST ME
A one-woman show in development, exploring late-diagnosis ADHD in women, how to navigate with power, resilience and a tongue planted firmly in cheek...
"I thought it was just me!" time and time again, the accidental mantra of thousands of women in their 40s, 50s and above. The tears of frustration and relief as a lifetime of 'being weird' reveals itself to be symptomatic of ADHD. The most important bit? You're not alone, so let's navigate it together, with honesty, rage and a very dark sense of humour.

Carol Hodge is a singer, pianist, songwriter and educator. She has performed on numerous Top 40 albums, released 5 solo albums to critical acclaim, and continues to tour the world as a solo artist, as well as on vocals and keyboards for The Wildhearts and Steve Ignorant's Crass.

With over 20 years experience both onstage and in the classroom, this new project sees Carol stepping into fresh territory as a researcher, actor, scriptwriter and stand up comic.
This live video of the song Bear With Me gives some indication of the confessional songwriting Carol is known for. "I Thought It Was Just Me" will feature brand new songs in a similar vein, alongside stories, monologues, videos and audience participation.
